This is one awesome movie from director Jack Hill(Spider Baby,Coffy,Foxy Brown)!!! It’s a about the wild and crazy world of figure 8 style racing!!! Plenty of footage of this wild sport is in this flim!!! This DVD revved to the max with oodles of extras and this cult classic deserves every on of them!!! The commentary with Jack Hill and Johnny Memoir is ultra cold and very informative!!! The featurette is mega wintry too!!! This disc also has many more extras including trailers and more!!! It’s also enhanced for 16:9 TVs!!! In Classic Murky and White!!! A moral 60’s classic!!!

Greasy, cowlicked slouch gets popped out of jail for street dragging by Brian Donlevy who promises him beer, women and song in demolition derby racing.

Once he gets a taste of the pennzoil and cocaine in his blood stream he stops at nothing to hustle his plot to the top, leaving a bolt of bloodied and broken racers and lot lizards late him.

Sid Haig is coolest star in this film, and it’s a kick to peruse a young Ellen Burstyn as a gear-jamming honey, too. One of Jack Hill’s best.

WALT: THE MAN Gradual THE Memoir is a warm, spicy, and spicy survey at both the public and private life of one of the greatest show-business men of the 20th Century….a man who is smooth influencing our world today. The never before released photos and film footage alone manufacture this a “must” steal. If the production has one fault, it may be that it leaves the viewer wanting more such glimpses into the life of Walt Disney. A vast companion video would be THE HAND Late THE MOUSE: THE UB IWERKS Chronicle.

It was substantial seeing a more balanced biography of Walt Disney after all these years. I felt like there have always been 2 extremes: the sugary and perfect Walt who loved children, and the diabolic Communist smasher that hated Jews.

Well, here’s a news flash: he was human. Walt was a taskmaster, and perfectionist, but he was dedicated to animated people and making them laugh. This movie showed us how he was a 12-year musty at heart, elephantine of the vigor that made his cartoons tremendous and prone to being naive when it came to labor and politics.

To work for Walt was probably a rollercoaster, being “under the eyebrow” one moment when he was concentrating on a project, then cheerful when he dispensed a single iota of praise from his gruff businessman persona. The next second he could transform himself into a character from the storyboard he was demonstrating, brimming with energy and enthusiasm like a middle-aged Huck Finn.

People have tried to villify him over the years, pecking away and trying to move down his overly-sweet reputation perpetuated by the studio after his death. But you can say this about him: he loved childern, wanted to perform people laugh, and in some tiny arrangement felt that by making the childhood of others happier, he was a pleased child himself.

This film opens with tall confidence and energy. The humor of the Turtles may be so 1990 but I quiet dig it. The opening scene in the shopping mall is intention humorous and a enormous intention to introduce is to the sequel. At the time the style of the Turtles wasn’t so passe, so the status may seem a bit childish or plain now.

I have no doubts that if this movie were made today it would not be subtitled ‘The Secret of the Ooze’. One can hardly interrogate high art from a movie called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II but they could have subtitled it something a puny less crass. Apparently taking plot upright after the first movie (where’s Casey) it wastes no time bringing succor the Shredder and the rest of the Foot Clan.

This time Shredder aims to prefer the cannister of ooze that mutated our heroes so he can accomplish his bear monsters to avenge his defeat. The result is Tokka and Rahzar and it seems like a half-attempt at a live-action version of Rocksteady and Bebop. As you can imagine, this spot isn’t very clever. But the movie never really lulls so long as our heroes are on hide.

Look out for a cameo by Vanilla Ice (looking alarmingly like Dolph Lundgren) at the ruin. It’s so dated it may be difficult to perceive but as long as your alone you won’t have to cringe.

The DVD has fantastic motion menus as well as a immense 1.85:1 anamorphic record with Dolby 5.1 sound. Extras are thin but serene it’s a big bewitch.

I’d really like to give this movie 5 stars because I appreciate and have loved the ninja turtles since they came out in the slack 80’s. The movie is well done, the costumes witness better in the second movie then they do in both the first and the third movie, and the overall tone of the movie is upbeat.

However there are several glaring flaws that caused me to wonder if the editors were sleeping when this movie was on the cutting room floor.

Things like their bandanas kept getting caught up under the state where the turtle heads went over the neck on the costume. Costume malfunction? Constantly. Also there are SEVERAL scenes where they would have weapons strapped to their backs, then they wouldn’t have them, then they’d have them again. I mean arrive on, what kind of ninjas would go into battle without their weapons? And at the raze…when Shredder dumps the ooze on himself and mutates into SuperShredder….why in the world did his armor and clothes mutate also? (besides the fact that someone conception it would survey ‘cool’? )

Overall, the scripts were done well, even Ernie Rayes did a pleasant job as Keno, AND did his gain fighting sequences. Casey isn’t in this one, we can only engage he’s goongalla gone for a while…maybe he went assist up to that house in the first one?

Two of the turtles voices are the same, Leo and Donny. Raph has a different actor in each movie, and Donny….only because Corey Feldman was working out his cocaine issues. His negate actor was suitable serene, and I rather liked it better then Corey’s stammer, though Corey’s mutter was distinguished more distinctive. And Leonardo’s mumble actor is the same guy who voiced Bunji from the Bionic Six cartoon (anyone remember that one? )

And don’t forget to recognize out for cameos by three of the four turtle actors. In order…Mikey is the guy with the snooty wife that talks to April outside her apartment “You’re that newslady…” Leonardo is the foot who says something like “the junkyard was our fallback area”, and Donatello is the guy in April’s newroom who’s saying there is a phone call from the guy who “says his name’s Donny…”

But I ramble. As I said before…I’d like to give this movie a 5, it being my popular of the three movies, even though I will always be a fan of the NT comics moreso and would like to survey a fourth movie done in honest martial arts style, sad and angsty….like the comics. But… this movie was cute and very cartoony and tremendous to look with your kids. A expedient select.

After many years of fans begging the Sesame Workshop (formerly the Children’s Television Workshop) to do a major release of “classic” material from the archives, it appears that they finally relented! I mediate the success of the Electric Company Situation from several months support paved the diagram…

Let me inaugurate out by saying that I’m 29 years broken-down and have been collecting this material for years. The bulk of what I’ve obtained came from the Noggin channel which was playing outmoded episodes of Street from 1969 to 1989 until they stopped airing them a few years relieve.

I imagine most of the people enthusiastic in this state are familiar with the early years of Sesame Street. It was a chaotic, brilliantly conceived note from day one… very great a product of its time (the tedious 60s), and although the prove was devised to inform kids, it was in its believe contrivance as revolutionary in format as Monty Python’s Flying Circus was… extremely lickety-split paced and chock pudgy of highly imaginative, trippy bewitching segments (such as, for example the Racecars Spies number series, best described as a psychedelic freak out with dreamlike, surreal animation regarding numbers one through ten and sung by Grace Slick, then of Jefferson Airplane, in her bear inimitable arrangement) … And that’s objective the tip of the iceberg. For those of you who grew up being hypnotized, and yes, often shrinking by the many queer, often subversive moving segments of the expose (many of which are permanently etched in your brain; you’d be amazed how vividly some of these clips near relieve to you even after not seeing them for 25 years or more), unruffled assume with affection the intellectual jazzy orchestrations of demonstrate composer Joe Raposo (who wrote the most sophisticated music ever devised for children’s TV), remember hanging out with Mr. Hooper and a Gordon who actually had hair (there were actually two other actors who played Gordon before the fresh bald one we know and cherish), and loved the rougher, edgier quality of those early muppet segments, this is the release for you. After many years of Schoolhouse Rock being available for pick (which I adore too, but the early Street material is even better in my idea), we can now discover forward to this:

7 hours of classic content

The new pitch for the display – first time available anywhere!

Celebrity appearances from James Earl Jones, Jesse Jackson, Johnny Cash, Jackie Robinson

Classic segments every parent will remember: “I Care For Trash,” “Rubber Duckie,” “C is for Cookie”

Original animations including Ladybug Picnic, Alligator King, King of Eight

Hopefully this will be the first of many releases of classic Sesame Street! The second volume of the Electric Company will be released in November.

They’ve done a favorable job at balancing tubby episodes with minimal (if any) repetition with shorts of the accepted skits and segments. I accept the announcer cartoon (called Bob) annoying and an unnecessary delaying tactic to win to the episodes. If you skip to the next chapter you miss the beginning. If you don’t you’re stuck listening to him. He may provide some useful info, but nothing I wouldn’t want to be able to easily skip. Some of the sound and video quality is bad. Fuzzy film, blown out or aged colors. I’m guessing that the masters have degraded some, it is kind of captivating to hear report pops and static on “Being green” (Dazzling minor distraction impartial at the beginning) . Anyhow all these are minor quibbles. It was sizable to eye the episodes and sketches as well as scrutinize the early incarnation of these characters. (It looks like Immense bird is missing half his head and Oscar is Yellow!)

So the info I was looking for before I bought the disc and unruffled haven’t seen anyonepost it is what is on the DVD’s. If you’d rather be surprised, halt reading now. If you would like to know what is listed as being on the DVD’s, read on accurate believer…

OK folks, there are very few DVD/Movies I can wholeheartedly recommend for the entire family, but Calamity Jane is one of them! Made in 1953, when Doris Day was in her early 20’s, Calamity Jane made Doris a musical and theatre star. No seek information from about it, Doris Day carries this movie on her slim feminine shoulders. She absolutely shines as Calamity Jane, the ultimate western tomboy cowgirl. Doris excels in singing (the songs are positively addicting and you will be humming them for days to near), dancing (wow, can she dance!), shooting (well, she pretends to shoot), and acting (comedy and drama) her contrivance through this rolicking savory film. Doris Day is objective a treat to notice and the kids will plunge in adore with her. Day is so talented in so many different ways, and this film is a perfect vehicle to showcase her talents. Doris definitely deserves an A+ for her performance.

The supporting cast is terrific as well, with Howard keel as the baritone singing Wild Bill Hickok, and Allyn Ann McLerie as Katie Brown, Calamity’s girlfriend and rival for the romantic attentions of US Cavalry’s Lieutenant Danny Gilmartin.

The situation is simple, fun, and entertaining; the whole family will devour this one from 2 year traditional Awful Too to 102 year faded grandma! There is nothing deep here for your mind to judge about, no, this is a movie to objective sit befriend and savor, and bask in it you will.

My husband is currently deployed and this note is something I net to peruse forward to every week. I’m not living arrive unpleasant while he’s gone so I can’t really participate in the FRG and such. This reveal gives me something to portray to. I laugh, sob, go “awwww…”, wail and throw couch cushions at the tv. Improbable demonstrate. The characters and storyline are colossal. If you’re an army wife going through deployment… Procure this note. It’s very comforting. Honestly, in the beginning of his deployment, this reveal is what helped me suck it up and be strong.

What a Mountainous cast! Each character is played and developed so well that by the kill of the expose, now I can hardly wait for the Second Season to reach in the mail. EACH actor as well as the programs creators must be applauded for their outstanding, deeply curious, uniquely individual personae that are portrayed. I was not even aware of the existence of the expose until I found out that Catharine Bell had continued her career after the fantastic job she did during all of the JAG years. That’s the reason I purchased the series–I gambled on Catharine. And then to net the entire group so talented and convincing, was a proper treat. For those who worship JAG, NCIS, The Unit, or any other military-focused series, this is a very welcome addition. Extremely delicious is the “partial cast group question-answer session with the produces, or creators of the present.” The actors exhibit their legal selves during this session, and seem to have developed a family- comeraderie, which I found very refreshing. I believe the productions values are even higher because of it. I loved getting to notice them as people. Bravo for this series–I hope it continues for many years.

All apt, obviously originality isn’t the strong point in the film Tales from the Hood (1995), but it does have enough inspiration to accept past being labeled a shadowy Tales from the Crypt fear anthology (revenge tales with a racial inch are level-headed revenge tales) . Now, I had seen this film in the theater when it originally came out some ten years ago, and haven’t seen it again since recently. I did remember most of what happened in the film, but the one thing that I had forgotten about was how grand profanity was actually in the movie. I’m not a prude, but I judge it’s distinguished to throw that out there if you have a dilemma with characters cursing ad nauseam (I snort the argument could be made this reflects a definite aspect of society, so I can deal with it) …written and directed by Rusty Cundieff (Apprehension of a Murky Hat, Sprung), with Spike Lee listed as executive producer, the film features Clarence `Linc’ Williams III (The Mod Squad, I’m Gonna Git You Sucka), Joe Torry (House Party 3, Sprung), Wings Hauser (Vice Squad, Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time), David Alan Grier (Jumanji, McHale’s Navy), Corbin Bernsen (Major League, The Dentist), and Rosalind Cash (The Omega Man, Uptown Saturday Night), among others…

Buy,Download, Or Stream Tales From the Hood! Click Here

The film is actually four separate stories bookended by a fifth…of Jack Daniels…no, by a fifth fable (when I say `bookended’, I mean there is a set-up anecdote which starts the film, and then appears after each of the other stories ends, finally finishing out the film) . The film begins with a myth called Welcome to My Mortuary, as three street toughs advance at a funeral home, one urge by the wild-eyed Mr. Simms (Williams) . Somehow (this aspect isn’t really made determined) Mr. Simms has arrive into a load of drugs apparently once belonging to these three chaps, and now they’ve arrived to retrieve said stuff, to which they’re engaged in four tales about various deceased individuals now occupying coffins within the funeral home, the first called Rogue Cop Revelation. This one is about a group of racist cops, one played by Hauser, who assume revenge on a local politician for his efforts in trying to well-organized up the police force by pushing for the prosecution of noxious cops. The do-gooder ends up getting killed, but what is buried don’t always stop buried. The 2nd myth is titled Boys Do Procure Bruised and features a young boy whose teacher (looking a lot like Whoopi Goldberg with his dreadlocks) notices the signs of abuse as the boy continually shows up at school with bruises, which he claims were caused by a monster. This one features Grier in an uncharacteristic role as an extremely rancorous individual. The third memoir, titled KKK Comeuppance, features Bernsen as a racist politician/ex-klansman who buys an frail plantation house in the hopes that it will wait on him in winning an upcoming election. Apparently the house has a violent history in that of a slave massacre that happened many years prior, and now the ghosts of the past have been re-awakened by the intrusion of this unpleasant individual. The fourth yarn, titled Hardcore Convert, is about a vicious street hood/killer who, after being captured and sentenced to life in prison, is offered a 2nd chance if he consents to a radical fresh program including behavioral modification techniques administered by a doctor played by Cash. After this the initial epic, the one featuring Mr. Simms and the three gang members, comes to a spectacular and memorable conclusion.

I did bask in this film overall, but found the slinging of racial epithets to bag a bit excessive at times, especially in the first and third stories. I know the intent was to accomplish characters so odious and nasty that when eventually presented with their mortal fate, they would appear completely deserving, but I felt their scandalous nature could have been better portrayed through a less sure tactic. I bellow because there were a number of different stories presented here there may not have been the time to compose fully realized, three dimensional characterizations, so the director had to opt for the hastily and dirty plot. Anyway, the strongest legend was the last one provocative the hardcore thug named Jerome aka Crazy K, and the attempt to alter his perception by giving him an opportunity to look the never-ending path of escalating violence he, along with many others, follow often times by choice. The imagery presented in this fable is very harsh and will evoke a sense of inflame and disgust, as the director uses precise photographs of past atrocities (lynchings, burnings, etc.) as Jerome undergoes a bizarre rehabilitation process. The special effects overall looked lovely edifying and featured a mixture of CGI work along with some obedient old-fashioned fashion cessation motion animation. The direction and pacing are strong, and most of the actors are very righteous (Clarence Williams III really drives the film with his wiggy, over-the-top performance), even if the script falters at times. One aspect I did like was while there was focus on white racism in some of the stories, it wasn’t the only motivating factor throughout as black-on-black violence is also reflected in some of the tales. All in all this film could have been a lot worse. There are no precise surprises as the various stories don’t really offer any gross or twist endings, but it does feature a sincere hum dinger of an ending and some strong, legal messages that may report to some audiences.

The widescreen non-anamorphic (1.85:1) characterize looks very fascinating and determined (Amazon states the aspect ratio at 1.33:1, but this wasn’t the case, at least on my copy) . The audio, presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround, Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono, is decent, but sometimes seems a shrimp muddled and soft. Special features include a `making of’ featurette, theatrical trailer, TV promos, and cast and crew bios. I give this 3 ½ stars.

3RD TALE; A WHITE MAN WHO’S RUNNING FOR MAYOR LIVES IN A Veteran SLAVE HOUSE THAT HAS DOLLS IN IT THAT ARE ALIVE. THIS IS Satisfactory, AND IT WAS PURE GENIUS HOW THE DOLLS CAME TO LIFE AND Fair Skittish THE LIVING SH.. OUT OF HIM. Tall Fable.

4TH TALE; A THUG IS SENTENCED TO BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION. THIS IS THE BEST Chronicle THAT THIS MOVIE HAS TO OFFER. IT SHOWS WHAT OFTEN HAPPENS TO THUGS. HE KEEPS SAYING HE DON’T GIVE A F… BUT THEN WE HE BLOWS HIS CHANCE AT REDEMPTION, HE WAKES UP AND GETS KILLED.

The Bourne Ultimatum (Widescreen Edition) and Minority Recount (Widescreen Edition) both produced similar moments which I really dug, in which a approach omniscient character guides his/her fleeing companion and does so with such handsome timing and pinpoint accuracy that steal is thereby avoided (Jason Bourne in one film, that psychic chick in the other) . EAGLE Ogle is one extended version of these two moments, and, guess what, it doesn’t find broken-down.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Eagle Eye! Click Here

I guess this could happen, government voyeurism, what with how advanced technology’s gotten. In fact, I’ve no doubt this is happening legal now. EAGLE Search For presents a twisty spot, the soup of which blends Great Brother paranoia, the techno thriller, the shadow of terrorism, a whiff of Skynet, and the classic man on the accelerate theme. EAGLE Spy tells of two strangers – Jerry Shaw, the slacker copy boy (excuse me, “copy associate”) from Copy Cabana and Rachel, the stressed single mom/paralegal – suddenly flung together by a mysterious (and dang pushy) female who gives them brisk instructions over their cell phones, forcing them to frenetically urge and jump around, drive like they’ve got to consume the bathroom, acquire up a pair of security guards for a briefcase (of which contents are a letdown, by the plan), and even sneak onboard a military cargo plane. And those are unbiased for starters…

The most appealing section of the film, for me, was learning what was up with the voicy boom, who’s cornered Jerry by framing him as a terrorist and cornered Rachel by threatening to raze her son. Powerful of the suspense leaks out once the film drops the 411 on the cell phone taskmaster. EAGLE Gape is escapist cinema which may have started out intending to get some sort of notable political and social statement but then kind of shrugged it off halfway thru the film. There’s no dearth of far-fetched moments (like, on the shriek, where there honest happened to be a conveniently snoozing stranger with a celly sitting legal across from Shia or Rachel being so out-of-the-blue obliging with a firearm) . But the third act really goes ape-shiznit with the preposterous as the Sizable Bad’s plans coalesce and imperil the nation’s highest offices. The film’s stout crescendo echoes the climax scene from Hitchcock’s The Man Who Knew Too Great.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Eagle Eye! Click Here

Will Smith’s ENEMY OF THE Place and the Bourne series have already demonstrated that the government can check up on us by accessing security, surveillance, and traffic cameras, as well as cell phones. EAGLE Inspect one-ups these films by featuring an antagonist who is more far reaching, more omnipresent. The impart not only can track any person anytime, anywhere, by tapping into the nation’s electronic data grid, but she can remotely control discontinuance lights, steer elevated trains, location off power lines, and even recall over military aircrafts. When our heroes go on the hasten (and don’t really have time to chat on the cell), they acquire friendly directions from various electronic billboard signs, readout displays and monitor screens. So, unless you’re Amish, there’s no escaping the nagging bid.

Shia LaBeouf lost some cred with me for his vine-swinging portion in the latest Indiana Jones flick. Here, he’s decent but this really isn’t a platform to note off his acting chops, slave as the characterize is to the rapid reduce edits, flashy stunts and loud pyrotechnics. LaBeouf’s characer has a few moments to do his surly, angst-ridden bit (what with his dumb twin brother being the brighter light in the family), but he and lead actress Michelle Monaghan actually arrive off more as chess pieces being shuffled about by the all noteworthy entity to progress its dusky extinguish game. Julianne Moore plays the mysterious tell on the phone, managing to sound impersonal yet officiously sexy. Billy Bob Thornton is helpful as the undeterred FBI guy and Rosario Dawson is wasted as Air Force OSI Agent Zoey Perez trying to fraction it all together. Thornton, by the draw, comes up with the best line in the film, as he chews out his underlings: “If I don’t obtain some pleasant leads soon, you’re all gonna be demoted into something that’s gonna require touching $#!t with your hands!”

So, why am I four-starring this film? Because, in spite of the over-the-top beats, I got twisted into the premise enough that I had to watch it thru to the ruin. And it may be loud and sometimes incoherent, but, damn if I didn’t indulge in the wild high-tail. I contemplate the key is that the film moves at such a frenetic slide that it forces you to shift your focus from one sequence to the next. You might unbiased have enough time to ponder the implausibility of whatever’s on the cover, but then you almost immediately secure distracted with the next implausible thing on the camouflage. It’s sleight-of-hand trickeration, is what it is. And, in the final tally, I had a righteous time (and, yes, portion of the suitable time was spent making fun of the film) .

As for the government accessing our electronic devices, that would certainly account for why I’m so sucky at Tetris on my cell phone. Now I leer that it’s the government conducting cyber terrorism. Those finks.

Eagle See is based on a Spielberg conception and executive produced by him. Spielberg is well-known for successfully incorporating technical elements from distinguished films and directors into his bear films but never quite developing his characters equal to the masters. Taking a cue from Spielberg, director D.J. Caruso has decided to shoot a film that is virtually all action and has virtually no character development. Hold Shia LaBeouf’s character, ‘Jerry Shaw’. LaBeouf’s plays him over the top, constantly excited and fighting with everybody, starting with his father (who he hates), spurning his offer to pay his tuition and return to college at Stanford where he had dropped out two years earlier. There is virtually nothing likable about our protagonist from the beginning! When a secret Department of Defense computer named Aria goes berserk and deposits over $700,000 into Shaw’s bank tale and then dumps a cache of terrorists’ weapons in his apartment, leading to his arrest by the FBI, Shaw has to figure out who has region him up. He ends up escaping from the FBI’s clutches with the befriend of the computer and then being paired with Michelle Monaghan who plays ‘Rachel Holloman’, a divorced single mother.

Jerry and Rachel are ordered about by this computer under wound of death to go to and fro to all kinds of crazy locations, fulfilling the computer’s various commands that don’t seem to have a discernible purpose. The computer stays in contact with our two protagonists by all means of computer connected gadgetry (principally cell phones) but also at times through electronic devices (such as LCD screens at the subway) that are not ostensibly connected to computers. At first Jerry and Rachel are yelling at each other all the time but gradually reach to realize that they have been victimized by a favorite enemy. In addition to surviving numerous car chases (which are edited so poorly, it’s often impossible to know what’s going on), they suddenly derive the moxie to disarm armored truck guards. Meanwhile, they’re being chased by an FBI agent played by an unhealthy looking Billy Bob Thornton who injects no humor, charm or wit into the role. The same goes for Zoe Perez who plays a Department of Defense investigator who eventually discovers why the computer has gone berserk. It seems that the computer has decided to eliminate the President and his underlings after the Military fails to impress its advice to abort a mission to demolish a terrorist utilizing a drone somewhere in Afghanistan (or some nearby terrorist haven) . The computer was ‘locked’ at the last second by Shaw’s twin brother who mysteriously dies in a car accident at the beginning of the movie. The computer needs Jerry to unlock the yelp and eventually summons him to her lair.

Eagle Watch borrows heavily from gracious films such as I, Robot and Terminator II where the protagonist must disable the computer to support it from committing its sinister acts. I can’t remember the real manner in which Zoe Perez actually disables “Aria” here in Eagle Explore but the computer ‘takedown’ by Will Smith and Arnold Schwarzenegger in their respective films is considerable more inviting and sophisticated than what is depicted here.

In an awkward tribute to Hitchcock’s “The Man Who Knew Too Considerable”, Shia is given the Jimmy Stewart piece where he must prevent Rachel’s son from hitting a high impress while playing the Star Spangled Banner on his trumpet at the White House. The label will trigger an explosion that will eliminate the US chain of verbalize from the President on down (In “The Man Who Knew Too Remarkable”, Jimmy Stewart must prevent the assassination of a world leader while a symphony orchestra also hits a ‘high note–masking the sound of the assassin’s bullet) . In addition to LaBeouf’s one-note performance, my main spot with the film was that I couldn’t understand why such a logical entity as a computer would be so illogical in constructing such a convoluted set to effect its goals. What’s surprising about Eagle Study is that it actually starts out realistically (the botched terrorist strike actually looks like something that could happen!) . I understand that action-adventure films aren’t supposed to be ‘realistic’ but shouldn’t they conform to some kind of internal logical? Unfortunately, logic is almost completely lacking here.

I have been eagerly awaiting the release of season four as I am certain many other have been. I do acquire all previous seasons on DVD and am thrilled with the audio/video transfer. But has anyone else noticed a obsolete mastering of the audio on season 4? I have to turn up my TV louder to hear it which produces that “white noise” sound in the background. Oh well, I can deal with it. Can’t wait for season 5!!!!

How do I even initiate reviewing a note like “Serial Experiments: Lain? “

To inaugurate with, this is one of the most visually astounding, compelling, curved, sci-fi-ish, dramatic, different and confusing anime series I’ve ever seen. It all centers on Lain, who, in all respects, appears to be a normal, if not independent (read: loner) young girl. She doesn’t have dapper powers, she isn’t anime-style sexy, and she doesn’t acquire or operate a giant mecha — but she does wear the cutest limited teddy possess outfit: ears, tail, and all.

The epic begins with the suicide of one of her classmates. A short time later, she’s emailed by this classmate, from “beyond the stupid…” Lain, having likely never powered on her Navi (deem future, utter activated Macintosh — it even run’s the “Copland OS”), clears off her desk and sets the machine up. And she’s bent. She asks her “Papa” for a novel Navi, as her’s is a shrimp stale and dated. With her wish granted, she’s soon cruz’ing the Wired (the future Internet) in her impress recent Navi. By chance (or is it? ) she comes into posession of a Psyche Processor, and reads up on how to install it. That Processor is only the beginning, and soon her room is transformed into a shaded cave of crooked wires and green, bubbling coolant.

The series, like I said, is confusing. If you had a hard time with “Eyes Wide Shut,” you might pass on “Lain.” It’s difficult to review, because of everything that happens in it. Correct, there are only 13 episodes, but those episodes possess so remarkable record line, that missing one is like missing two hours of a movie that’s two hours and ten minutes long. Only until the last disc makes it into your DVD player do you start to understand some of what’s going on. And then, the anecdote line changes on you again, and you’re once again thinking, “Huh? “

If you’ve never seen “Lain,” I wouldn’t recommend this box status. I also can’t recommend the buy of honest the first disc to “try it out,” as the kindly, confusing stuff doesn’t commence happening until the next disc’s episodes. You might want to try a rental store or friend, to give it a test drive. If you already gain all the DVD’s, there’s really no reason to capture this box region, as all you’d be getting is a box (and, of course, a second copy of each DVD) .

Repeated viewings of “Lain” are recommended. Personally, I assume a runt “viewer companion” for us American audiences would have been a nice touch. “Serial Experiments: Lain” should be watched by all anime fans, as it provides a different near to anime, but some may approach away feeling lost and dazed. Lain will do that to you.

Serial Experiments Lain is a expose which leaves most people with a definite impression of ‘huh? ‘. It is the myth of a girl named Lain, who is rather socially inept.

In the first episode, a classmate of Lain’s jumps off of a building to her death. Afterwards, people initiate receiving E-mails from this girl. And that’s objective the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the ‘weirdness’ of Lain.

As the series progresses, so does Lain. Because of the tiring, girl’s E-mail, she gets a small fervent in computers. She learns more and more of the Wired, which is like our Internet. From the individuals on the Wired, and from her bear experiences there, she slowly learns the truth about the Wired, and the world.

Lain is a nicely stupid, somewhat pretentious anime. It questions what we know as the staunch world, using real-seeming characters.

In some ways, the series has an ‘X-files’ (the multi-part episodes) feel to it. You never quite know what’s going on, who’s who, and impartial when the pieces are about to near together, the storyline takes another twist.

A satisfactory sight into the psyche of the Internet, Internet users, and the world.

The boxed version contains all four DVDs (Navi, Knights, Deus and Reset) . For reviews or tech specs of the individual discs, visit their pages.
